ClickBoard Montage Lightweight Construction Wall

Parador - Montage & FAQ - Verlegung - ClickBoard Montageanweisung Leichtbauwand
1. Outlining your installation plan
Use an alignment string, a solder, a spirit level or a laser level to outline the future course of your new wall onto the floor. As the next step, the course of that wall is being transferred to the adjacent walls and all the way up to the ceiling again using a spirit or laser level. After the course of the wall has been marked, it is time to determine the positions of the studs. For the planking, there needs to be one stud under every Clickjoint. Thus the planking area is being centered between the sides (the wall length divided by the board length that is being used) and the leftover value is split equally between the sides. Please note the recommended minimum clearance (10 cm) between Click-joints and any corners or openings (see Installation Rule 7).

2. Sub-structure and insulation
Next, the sub-structure is being installed and leveled out at exactly those marks, starting with the installation of the upper and lower laths/ UW-profiles followed by the lateral laths/ CW-profiles. Especially with the lateral laths/ CW-profiles it is important to use dowels every 1000 mm or at least 3 fixations per wall. Commercially available insulation strips are put under all studs/ profiles for reasons of sound insulation and general sealing.
Furthermore, it is important to make sure that the lateral CW-profiles are tied positively to the existing walls. This is necessary to prevent deformations of the profiles during the planking. Depending on the board format that is being used (0.39 or 0.49 m) the metal profiles are now being inserted (but not screwed yet!) in the respective distances according to the results of the centering procedure. Please mount the profiles additionally at the top and bottom parts to the UW-profiles with profile-bonding pliers. After leveling, the metal posts need to engage at least 1.5 cm into the upper profile. Brackets are used to connect the studs with each other. Use a laser-leveling device (your dealer has one of those available for you to rent) to exactly align the walls. The insulation and cables that are supposed to go into the hollow space can be inserted after the first side has been completely planked. When putting up the sub-structure, please always follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions for that specific product.

3a. Mounting the fastening rail
The fastening rails are screwed flush to the substructure on adjacent walls and ceilings. With doors or window openings fastening rails are also installed all around, screwed on to the sub-structure. They serve as the lateral fixation for the ClickBoards and keep them from sliding down. At the bottom connection the fastening rails are not needed, because the boards can be put up directly on the floor.

3b. Mounting the corner cramps
The base plates of the corner cramps are screwed flush to the substructure (Distance: 20 cm) on adjacent walls and ceilings. Base plates need to be screwed to the sub-structure also around all doors and window openings. They serve as the lateral fixation for the ClickBoards and keep them from sliding down. At the bottom connection the corner cramps are not needed, because the boards can be put up directly on the floor.

4. Fitting the first row
Center the measured width of the first and the last row. To determine the required distance to the wall, measure the wall between the spacers / spacer wedges (remember to do the same when measuring the last row) and distribute the measured value evenly between the first and the last row. The Click-profile (tongue – side) of the first row has to be removed in any case.

5a. Mounting with fastening rail and center cramps
First of all and in order to secure the required wall clearance start by pushing the spacers onto the fastening rail at the top and the bottom and screw on the base track. Now slide the prepared first panel between the base track and the fastening rail. Then, with a maximum distance of 40 cm, the center cramps are being pushed onto the profile and then screwed on to the sub-structure beneath. If the height of the room exceeds 2.58 m the boards should be installed with staggered butt joints (see no.9). Please note that any direct contact with water at the cut ClickBoard side must be avoided.

5b. Mounting with corner and center cramps
Start by pushing the ClickBoard corner wedges as well as the spacer brackets into the corner cramps on the side that you want to start with. Now insert the prepared first board into the corner cramps. Then, with a maximum distance of 40 cm, the center cramps are being pushed onto the profile and then screwed onto the sub-structure beneath. If the height of the room exceeds 2.58 m the boards will be installed with staggered butt joints (see no.9). Please note that any direct contact with water at the cut ClickBoard side must be avoided.

6. Installation of ClickBoard
After the first ClickBoard has been put into place and fixed with the center cramps, it is time to insert the remaining panels one after the other in a lengthwise swiveling motion and mount them using the center cramps with a distance of not more than 40 cm. To click the boards together the tongue is inserted into the groove of the board that is already in place at an angle of 10-20º and then moved back. If the length of the wall exceeds 8 m, the area needs to be divided by an expansion gap. The expansion joint can be concealed easily using one of the colour-coordinated seals for expansion joints.

7a. Installing the last panel using the fastening rail
Measure the distance from the visible ClickBoard surface to the spacer (insert the spacer for measuring). Cut the last board to exactly this width. Swivel the panel into place in the usual manner and screw the base track onto the fastening rail.

7b. Installing the last panel using the corner cramps
Measure the distance from the visible ClickBoard surface to the corner wedge (insert the corner wedge for measuring). Cut the last board to exactly this width. Before the board is being installed, slide the spacer brackets onto the edge of the board so that they will fit into the already installed base plates. Final height adjustments of the spacer brackets by sliding them up and down along the edge of the board) are possible after the boards have been clicked together. For final fixation of the spacer brackets use a screwdriver or corner wedge to push them into the base plate. If your last board has been cut to size correctly, the edge of the board should appear in the window of the corner cramp after you have pushed in the spacer brackets (see illustration 7c).

8. Mounting the HDF-Profiles/ Finishing seals
Once the installation is finished, the required HDF-profiles/ finishing seals are cut to length and inserted into the base track. The profiles/seals can be cut with a tenon saw and a mitre box. The Connection seal can also be cut quite easily with the mitre cutter that is included in one of the Installation Tool Boxes.

9. Installation height > 2.58 m
With room heights exceeding 2.58 m, the boards will be installed in an interlocking pattern of staggered butt joints. When installing ClickBoard with butt joints, the last board of each installation row is inserted using a heel bar. It is particularly important here to retain a wall distance of 12 mm. Furthermore, it is required that the joints of the short-end sides stagger by at least 40 cm.
